Here's what's happened so far:

• April 10, 2006 - Members of the steering committee selected St. Joseph Church of Clintwood, Virginia as our twin parish after prayer, discussion and many interviews.

• May 30, 2006 - Dan Scharenbrock, steering committee member, submitted a logo for the twinning project. That logo, pictured on this page, represents the connection between our twin parishes.

• June 23, 2006 - St. Joseph's Appleton sponsored a four-day visit from Christine Ramirez, pastoral coordinator from our twin parish. It was a great introduction for the two parishes.

• June 25, 2006 - Our first request for financial help to support the Twinning project was a great success, thanks to the generous response from members of our parish.

• August 6, 2006 - "Prayer Partners" - Members of both St. Joseph parishes filled out prayer intention cards. The completed cards were exchanged and we continue to pray for each other.

• August 6, 2006 - The first issue of the Twinning Times appeared in the bulletin to keep our parish members up to date on twinning activities. Future issues will appear the first Sunday of each month.

• September 16-24, 2006 - "Share the Warmth!" - Generous members of St. Joseph's Appleton donated fifty large (30 gallon) bags of warm clothing and blankets. Thanks to parishioners who sorted, folded, and provided storage and transportation, the clothing will soon be on its way to Clintwood, Virginia.

• October 29, 2006 - Envelopes appeared in the brown envelopes to invite participation in the Thanksgiving dinner and Christmas party organized by St. Joseph Clintwood to help the less fortunate.

A Peek Forward:  Here's what's coming up:

• December 16 & 17, 2006 - Christmas cookie bake sale: Here's a chance to bake and share your favorite cookies! Proceeds from the sale will support our twin parish's efforts to share God's love through their children's Christmas party.

• February 3 & 4, 2007 - "Warm Hearts!" Help with the heating bills at our twin parish and have some fun by making Valentines and decorating cookies.

• April, 2007 - Spring service trip - After the necessary planning and preparation, a group will travel to Clintwood to help with service projects. This will also be the time to plan our projects for the second year of our twinning relationship.

• June, 2007 - We'll plan another visit from St. Joseph's Clintwood to Appleton.
