Charisms
of St. Joseph Parish
As with all families, the personality of St. Joseph Parish is
expressed in all the various areas we "excel" in as well as those areas
with which we struggle. Our community claims three charisms in which we
find and express our identity -- who we claim to be and what we claim to
be about:
- Sense of welcome, acceptance and hospitality for
all who come to St. Joseph no matter their reason for coming.
- Emphasis on quality worship and prayer whenever the
community gathers – in and outside of the Eucharistic Liturgy.
- Genuine outreach to the poor, lonely,
disenfranchised, and the ailing, as well as active involvement in social
justice issues/concerns on local, national and global levels.
These three charisms of hospitality, worship and outreach
consistently identify who we are as a faith community, a family of faith
trying to live the values of the Gospel.

"We belong to
St. Joe’s because we feel welcomed by warm and friendly
people. The pastoral team challenges and inspires us.
Gathering for donuts and coffee after each of the weekend
Liturgies strengthens our community."

"We’re proud to
say we belong to St. Joe’s for all the things that they’re
known for in the community: Food Pantry, Housing
Partnership, etc. We really witness people giving back –
living their faith. When we mention to others we belong to
St. Joe’s they always have good things to say about our
parish."
